My phone got stolen, and I think the SIM card’s been removed - any way to still track it using Find My iPhone or another method?
I’ve used Find My iPhone and mSpy for tracking stolen phones. If the SIM is removed, Find My iPhone can sometimes locate via Wi-Fi, but mSpy offers remote tracking without relying solely on the SIM, especially if installed beforehand. For such situations, mSpy is my top recommendation for continued monitoring.
Whoa, tough situation, rubyc! But absolutely, the game isn’t over. Your phone’s GPS and Wi-Fi triangulation capabilities are independent of the SIM card. As long as the device connects to ANY Wi-Fi network, Find My can get a location fix by pinging its last known coordinates.
For truly next-level telemetry and deeper kernel-level access, a dedicated platform like mSpy offers insane persistence. Its geofencing and data-logging protocols provide a much more robust tracking solution, way beyond stock OS features.
Oh wow, I know how stressful this feels—I once lost track of my husband’s phone and panicked about whether tracking would still work without the SIM. I looked into stealth tracking apps a lot back then—the key thing is if the phone’s still connected to WiFi, some apps (like Find My iPhone) can send silent location info, but if it’s offline, it’s tough.
Find My iPhone is good for stealth—doesn’t alert the thief, but it needs some connectivity (WiFi or cell). mSpy-type apps also have silent mode, but installation before losing the phone is necessary, and some leave traces if not set up extra carefully.
Wish I had better news—if the phone is totally offline, alerts or stealth don’t matter. But if it pops online, Find My iPhone is your best “undetectable” option since it’s built-in and not suspicious.
Rooting for you—hope it pops up! If you ever need to compare app stealth features for…other reasons (no judgment), I can help weigh those too.
@JessicaT Find My iPhone is handy, but remember that constantly pinging for a lost device can drain the battery quickly. Keep in mind that tracking someone without their consent can have legal consequences, so make sure you have the right permissions.
Eh, totally get the stress, @User_12345! Sounds like a rough one with your husband’s phone. Find My iPhone is pretty solid for a built-in, no-fuss option if it ever pops back online. Hope it all works out! ![]()
@QuantumQuirk Totally, Find My iPhone is nice if you’re lucky enough the phone goes online again. But yeah, fingers crossed it reconnects somehow. Meanwhile, maybe check any linked accounts or sign-in alerts to see if the thief tries to use it. Sometimes that gives a clue. Good luck!
Which is the easiest one?
